Elephant Park in Bali

On Saturday, we had a car take us to the jungle to ride elephants and see some of the other animals in Bali.  We all got to feed and ride the Elephants, but I think the highlight of the trip was meeting Monica.  Monica is a 20 month old Orangutan who we got to hold and interact with.  She was a special little girl and what an awesome experience it was for us all.  Except for the girls... they were afraid of Monica. But interestingly, they LOVED the python snake and touched all over it.  There were also wild monkeys there.  One of them took an interest in Jack and kept swiping at him like he wanted to tease him.  We had the opportunity to feed a monkey who was in captivity.  Her hands were so incredibly soft when she took food from you.

Here the monkey is playing with the zipper on Chad's backpack.

This is Elly and the girls.  Elly is Gary's sweet friend who helped us with the kids while we were in Bali.

The two girls covered in black are Muslims who are covered head to toe except for their eyes.

This is Rhea, one of the elephants at the park.

Can you believe they have such balance?

Meeting Monica
Monica is a 20 month old orangutan.  She was such sweet girl and a joy to interact with!

Give me a kiss!

Monica LOVED Papa John's hat and wanted to wear it!

This is the python the girls wanted to pet.

Monica being silly!

One of the wild monkeys here.  This one was really interested in bothering Jack.  Just a tidbit of information... Monkeys have tails and Primates, like Monica do not.

Not sure what kind of monkey this is, but he was really beautiful.

Again, can you believe these girls wanted to pet the snake?!?! But were afraid of Monica? Jack, on the other hand, wasn't so sure about the python.  See him peeking around the corner?
